What is an API token?
An API token is a chunk of text the model reads or writes. Input, output, and cache tokens are billed separately.
What is cache read?
Cache read is the charge for reusing a stored prompt prefix. It is not a second copy of the output token price.
What is a base URL?
The base URL is the host your client calls. Point it at Token Supply and keep the same model id and SDK.
What is prepaid API credit?
Prepaid API credit is wallet balance. Token Supply debits it per request and stops calls when the balance hits zero.
What is a listed rate?
A listed rate is Token Supply's price per 1M tokens. The official rate is the public list price, when one exists.
Why these terms
They are the words on the pricing and setup pages. The glossary exists so those pages can stay specific.
