Configure Cursor with an OpenAI-compatible API

Yes. Cursor works with Token Supply. Keep Cursor's OpenAI preset. Paste a Token Supply key, turn on Override OpenAI Base URL, and choose a model from that key's plan.

  1. Create an OpenAI-plan key

    Cursor's custom key path is OpenAI chat, not Anthropic Messages.

  2. Open Models settings

    Cursor Settings → Models → OpenAI.

  3. Override the base URL

    Paste the key and set the base URL to https://api.token-supply.com/v1.

  4. Pick a reasoning model

    Use gpt-6.1-sol, gpt-6-sol, gpt-6-luna, gpt-6.1-terra, gpt-5.6-sol, or gpt-5.5 and a high reasoning setting when Cursor exposes one.

Who this is for

Cursor users on the OpenAI preset who can override the base URL and paste one key.

Setup

Keep the OpenAI preset. Do not create a new provider in Cursor.

  • Open Cursor Settings → Models.
  • Find OpenAI.
  • Paste your Token Supply key in the OpenAI API key field.
  • Turn on Override OpenAI Base URL.
  • Enter https://api.token-supply.com/v1.
  • Save and choose a model from that plan, such as gpt-6.1-sol, gpt-6-sol, gpt-6-luna, gpt-6.1-terra, gpt-5.6-sol, or gpt-5.5.
  • In the chat model picker, use a high reasoning setting when Cursor exposes one.

Why this works: Cursor keeps its OpenAI preset. Only the key and base URL change.

Override OpenAI Base URL

Why this works: The override is the line that sends Cursor traffic to Token Supply.

  • Keep the OpenAI preset. Do not create a new provider.
  • Pick a reasoning model such as gpt-6.1-sol, gpt-6-sol, gpt-6-luna, gpt-6.1-terra, or gpt-5.6-sol. Use a high reasoning setting when Cursor exposes one. gpt-6.1-sol does not accept none or minimal.
  • Cursor requests come from Cursor's servers, so the gateway URL must be public.
  • For Claude groups, use Claude Code instead.

Limits

Cursor's Tab completion continues to use Cursor's built-in models. The custom key applies to supported chat models.

Cursor sends requests through Cursor's servers, so the gateway URL must be public. A localhost URL will not work.

gpt-6-sol, gpt-6-luna, gpt-5.6-sol, and gpt-5.5 use a 1,050,000 token context window. Cursor does not take a config.toml context or effort field.

Not through this OpenAI override. Use Claude Code for Claude plans.
